Mission Trip Application

The Lourdes experience doesn’t come to an end with spring break or summer vacation. For decades, Lourdes students have been working through Campus Ministry to plan mission trips and alternative break experiences.

We are excited to announce that this year’s Habitat for Humanity Spring Break Team will be heading to Avery County, North Carolina!

  • Avery County Habitat for Humanity is located in the beautiful western North Carolina Mountains. We’ll be staying at the Gilmer Retreat Center – close to hiking trails, waterfalls, caverns and two ski resorts. Do not worry…other than having 3 bunk rooms able to house 30 people, the center also has a large kitchen, washer & dryer, showers, a ping pong table, and other games! They are also near Grandfather Mountain where the group will get to spend an afternoon exploring the beauty of God’s creation! The Blue Ridge Parkway and the Appalachian Trail are both nearby for hiking and exploring.
  • Students will have plenty of work to do with Habitat for Humanity throughout the week, including two house construction sites.

Through the work of Habitat, thousands of low-income families have found new hope in the form of affordable housing. Churches, community groups and others have joined together to successfully tackle a significant social problem―decent housing for all.

  • Trip Dates:  March 2-9, 2024
  • Trip Cost: $400 plus a non-refundable $25 deposit (Total $425)
  • Transportation: The Team will drive in vans.

This weeklong experience, together with any fundraising and preparations that lead up to the trip, offers participants an opportunity to work together as a team and to develop personal leadership skills.
