Lourdes University Enters Agreement to Help Concordia Ann Arbor Students Complete Degrees

Lourdes University will serve as a teach-out institution for Concordia University Ann Arbor students, when Concordia discontinues multiple undergraduate programs at the end of this academic year.
Concordia students will be able to complete their degrees at Lourdes in the same expected timeline. Under the teach-out partnership, Lourdes is also committed to ensuring that students face no unexpected increases to their total cost of degree.
Following Concordia administration’s announcement in June 2024 to significantly reduce its academic offerings starting in the 2025-26 academic year, university leaders have worked to build options for affected students. As a faith-based institution offering professional programs integrated with a strong liberal arts Core, Lourdes University can offer students an excellent academic experience very similar to what they have chosen at Concordia. Both schools compete in the same NAIA conference, increasing students’ familiarity.
While students facing program closure normally might struggle to transfer all credits to a program at a new institution, a teach-out agreement ensures a seamless transition.
In addition to the matching teach-out programs, Lourdes will offer Concordia students additional transfer options. Students majoring in programs that do not fall within the teach-out framework may still transfer to a similar program at Lourdes, receiving the same financial benefits, optimized transfer credit, and personalized advising.
