As Coordinator of Clinical and Field Experiences for the Lourdes University College of Social Sciences Education Division, Therese Hernandez is responsible for placing teacher candidates into area schools to complete their clinical and field experiences. She is also the Licensing Agent for the University’s Education Division.
Therese Hernandez brings 30 years of experience in education to her role as clinical and field coordinator, licensure agent, and instructor at Lourdes. She holds a Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Dayton and a Master of Arts Degree in Linguistics from the University of South Florida. Her journey as an educator began in elementary education as a teacher for the Hillsborough County School district, where she honed her skills in diverse classroom settings. From there, Therese held the job as a school administrator at various schools in the Diocese of St. Petersburg, Florida.
In addition to an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, Therese holds post graduate degrees in Educational Leadership (University of Dayton) and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (University of South Florida). Her skill set includes educational leadership, curriculum planning, TESOL, enrollment management, strategic development, data analytics, and assessment. At Lourdes, she has spearheaded the implementation of Anthology’s Chalk and Wire portfolio assessment and assisted with the division’s most recent accreditation cycle.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Therese is deeply engaged in helping her community as a practicing Catholic and member of the Gesu Catholic Church parish in Toledo.
