Early Acceptance Program

The LECOM program allows Lourdes biology majors to apply for early acceptance in three graduate tracks: Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy. After an interview, qualified Lourdes students can hold a provisional reserved seat at one of LECOM’s professional schools.

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), the country’s largest medical college, offers innovative and affordable osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, and dental education. With campuses in Erie and Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Bradenton, Florida, and Elmira, New York, LECOM provides student-centered preparation pathways for healthcare professionals.

Our partnership with LECOM allows Lourdes biology majors to apply for early acceptance in three graduate tracks: Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy. After an interview, qualified Lourdes students can hold a provisional reserved seat at one of LECOM’s professional schools.

Lourdes University offers the following LECOM EAP program tracks:

Medical 4+4
Dental 4+4
Pharmacy 2+ / 3+ / 4+

Application to the LECOM EAP can occur as early as the senior year in high school and until the start of a third year at Lourdes University, depending upon the program and track desired. Students must be enrolled in the EAP for two consecutive years before matriculation to LECOM.

Eligibility Requirements

Students must meet eligibility requirements depending on the LECOM track chosen (Medical, Dental, or Pharmacy). Basic requirements include:

Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (international students may apply to Pharmacy)
Students may apply while attending high school
Must not hold a bachelor’s degree or higher
Must have at least two years remaining as a full-time student at Lourdes University
SAT Score (Math and Verbal Reasoning) greater than or equal to 1240 on a single exam or an ACT Composite score greater than or equal to 26 on a single exam
A high school GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
Students already attending Lourdes University must have a cumulative overall GPA of 3.4 or higher and a science GPA of 3.3 or higher
