Lourdes University student organizations are an important aspect of the college experience providing opportunities to meet peers, gain knowledge, and develop skills. Student organizations are created for students by students. Types of organizations range from academic/honor societies to social interest and student leadership, sure to include something for everyone. Visit the list below of the current student organizations and we welcome you to reach out to them. If there is an organization that Lourdes does not currently offer, it is very simple to create a new one.
All student organizations are governed by the Student Government Association (SGA). SGA is available to help students create, run and lead organizations. Be sure to connect with SGA as you get involved on campus.
STARTING A NEW STUDENT ORGANIZATION
Requirements:
- A new student organization cannot duplicate or mimic an existing registered student organization (RSO).
- You must be a student currently enrolled at Lourdes.
- Have three (3) students interested in becoming members of your organization before it starts. Some of these members must also be interested in serving on an executive board composed of a president, vice president.
- All registered student organizations must have one Lourdes University faculty or staff advisor.
Application Process:
To become a new student organization at Lourdes University, student representatives must go through our application process. This application process is open all year long.
Step 1: Apply utilizing the application on Microsoft Forms.
Step 2: Once the application has been approved, the student organization and representative will be added to the university website and will learn about the universities policies, procedures, and benefits of being a registered student organization.

The purpose of the Alpha Zeta Kappa Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi shall be to promote excellence in and recognition of outstanding contributions to education. Ohio Innocence Project
Prevent Wrongful Conviction by promoting awareness of its existence on College Campuses and to generate student and community support for the Ohio Innocence Project, and its efforts to remedy Wrongful Convictions. Host events designed to educate college students and the general public about Wrongful Conviction and its occurrence. Recruit members with a shared interest in the matter who wish to learn more about it. Hold meetings for members to discuss involvement in the organization and organizational activities. Support and promote the efforts of the Ohio Innocence Project through social media and campus media outlets. Host an annual event in October commemorating International Wrongful Conviction Day. Host, at minimum, ONE other educational event during the academic school year to generate interest in the topic of Wrongful Conviction among university students and the public, and to foster the growth of the associated student group. Examples of events: panel discussions, documentary film screenings, speaking engagements, and demonstrations. Designate representatives to attend the annual OIP-u Conference organized by the Ohio Innocence Project and held at the University of Cincinnati Law School in Cincinnati, Ohio, along with representatives from the Lourdes LIFE program.

In the Spring 2004 semester, the Department of History at Lourdes was awarded the Alpha Lambda Nu Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the National History Honor Society. This chapter is dedicated to encouraging students in their studies in history and helping to promote an interest in history on campus.

Pre-ATA is an undergraduate association of students, educators, and individuals who support the therapeutic use of art and who are dedicated to provide and increase an awareness of art as a unique and universal form of self-expression and communication.
It is our mission is to provide an awareness of art therapy as a substantial and genuine health profession that uses the process of art making to better the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of all individuals.

Sigma
The purpose of the Sigma Nursing Honor Society is to recognize superior achievement, develop nurse leaders to improve healthcare everywhere, foster high professional standards, encourage creative work, and strengthen commitment to the ideals and purposes of the profession.
Student Qualification (since September 1, 2018-present) specifics are as follows:
Undergrad students-
- 3.0 cumulative GPA minimum
- Top 35% of their class
- At least half of curriculum/program completed
- Meet the expectation of academic integrity
RN students
- 3.0 cumulative GPA minimum
- Top 35% of their class
- At least half of the curriculum/program completed and at least 12 credit hours at their current school
- Meet the expectation of academic integrity.
Graduate students-
- 3.5 cumulative GPA minimum
- At least one-fourth of the curriculum/program completed
- Meet the expectation of academic integrity
Note: Students in graduate programs who are registered nurses, legally recognized to practice in their country and have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree or the equivalent in any field, shall be eligible to be considered as a Nurse Leader at any point in the program.

Established in 1976, Theta Alpha Kappa is the national honor society for theology and religious studies. The Greek letters appropriately stand for theos (God), anthropos (human person) and koinonia (communion). The local chapter at Lourdes University, Alpha Alpha Theta, was established in 1984.

PURPOSE

Rec Sports provide students an opportunity to get involved in non-varsity athletic activities on campus in a friendly and fun environment. The Lourdes University
Student Government Association (SGA), serves as a formal mechanism for a “student voice” on campus with respect to ideas, issues, and concerns regarding campus policies, programs, and activities.
